The Henley Auction

A Silent Auction will be held in conjunction with the AGM on 28 May 2008

(Members Only)

All members are invited to bring to the AGM three items (stamps on card, covers, packets, albums, pages) to be offered for sale on the following basis:

Members deposit their items on arrival at the meeting so that each can be given an anonymous number. A reserve price can be indicated.

Each item will then be displayed for inspection before the AGM and during the coffee break afterwards. Bids can be written on a paper against each item and signed, and rising counter-offers thereafter. After about 5 minutes notice, offers will close and the items will be sold to the highest bidder.

There will be no commission on sales at this private auction.

The purpose of this auction will be to augment the jollity, or temper the gravity, of the occasion and to stimulate participation in auctions generally, particularly by sellers.
